Queen’s music has always been larger than life, but when it’s reimagined for a 40-piece orchestra, a rock band, backing singers and a full choir, it reaches an entirely new dimension. That’s the magic of QUEEN Orchestral, returning to the 3Arena on Saturday, 8 November 2025.

The creative process starts with the original recordings. Every note, harmony, and instrumental detail is analysed before the arranging begins. Songs are then expanded into full orchestral scores — giving the strings, brass, woodwinds, and percussion their own parts while preserving the power of the original rock arrangements.

Some tracks, like Bohemian Rhapsody, demand near-perfect replication of Queen’s multi-layered studio sound. Others, like Innuendo, allow for creative reinterpretation, with soaring string sections and choral harmonies enhancing the drama.

“The goal isn’t to replace Queen’s music — it’s to magnify it,” says Gavin, the show’s lead arranger. “Freddie’s melodies and Brian’s guitar lines were already orchestral in spirit. We just bring that out in full colour.”

Rehearsals bring the whole ensemble together, blending the rock band’s raw energy with the orchestra’s richness and the choir’s resonance. The result? A sound that fills every inch of the 3Arena, giving audiences goosebumps from the first chord to the final bow.
